The itinerary

Day 1

Arrive London airport. Meet your guide and transfer to central London.

On arrival orientation tour of London en route to hotel including a lunch stop in Covent Garden.

Check in to your hotel. Welcome dinner at the hotel.

Day 6

This morning take the underground to Westminster for a guided walking tour of Westminster including a visit to Westminster Abbey followed by a ride on the London Eye for spectacular views over central London. Tour will also include a stop at Buckingham Palace to see the Changing of the Guard ceremony (subject to schedules).

This afternoon take a scenic cruise along the river Thames followed by a visit to the Tower of London. Explore the White, Bloody and Martin Towers where prisoners were held and often tortured. See the Crown Jewels, displayed in a specially built jewel house, and don't forget the legendary Ravens, without whom the White Tower would supposedly fall and a great disaster befall the monarchy.

This evening attend a West End theatre performance.

Day 2

This morning there will be a panoramic sightseeing tour by coach of the capital including all the major sights such as Trafalgar Square, Houses of Parliament, Piccadilly Circus, St Paul's Cathedral, Tower Bridge and much more.

Over lunch visit to a traditional London market this morning e.g. Borough Market. There will be free time to browse the market stalls and purchase lunch.

This afternoon attend a West End matinee theatre performance.

Return to hotel by public transport.

Day 7

Depart London including a stop in Oxford en route for some free time to purchase lunch in the town centre.

Continue to Stratford-upon-Avon. On arrival there will be a guided tour of the town including a visit Anne Hathaway's Cottage, Shakespeare's Birthplace and Exhibition & Trinity Church where Shakespeare is buried.

Check-in to hotel.

Attend Shakespeare play this evening at the RSC theatre.

Day 3

Depart hotel and using the underground travel to the Southbank. Take a backstage tour at the National Theatre. Get access to unseen parts of the building on a tour led by experienced and enthusiastic NT guides.

Discover the history of the iconic building

Visit the three auditoriums and their backstage areas

See the workshops where sets and props are created

Continue along bankside for a visit to Shakespeare's Globe theatre. Take a guided tour of theatre and exhibition.

Afterwards continue on foot across the Millennium footbridge for a visit to St Paul's Cathedral.

Pre-theatre dinner in West End restaurant.

This evening attend a West End theatre performance.

Day 8

Depart Stratford-upon-Avon and drive to Stonehenge. The great and ancient stone circle of Stonehenge is one of the wonders of the world. Built around 3100 BC, its purpose is still a mystery and speculation range from human sacrifice to astronomy.

Continue to Salisbury for some free time to purchase lunch and an opportunity to see its impressive medieval cathedral with the tallest spire in England (404 ft) and the surrounding cathedral close.

This afternoon visit Windsor Castle, the largest inhabited castle in the world Visit will include the State Apartments and St George's Chapel.

Return to London later this afternoon.

Day 4

This morning depart hotel and travel by underground to take a guided tour of the British Museum. The tour will include some of the museum's most famous exhibits such as the Elgin Marbles, the Rosetta Stone and the Lewis Chessmen.

This afternoon attend a West End matinee theatre performance.

Later this afternoon take a Jack the Ripper walking tour of the East End of London. (or other themed walking tour e.g. Harry Potter/Inns of Court/Dickens etc.)

Day 9

Some free time this morning for independent sightseeing/shopping on Oxford Street. Transfer to airport for return flight home. 


Day 5

This morning there will be a West End Theatre workshop based on a West End production

Example: WICKED

The workshop engages participants in theatre exercises which explore Wicked's social themes of identity, individuality and standing up for what you believe in. It uses acting and musical theatre techniques to achieve an insight into the lead characters and their relationships.

This afternoon choose between one or two of London's other world class museums such as the National Gallery, Natural History Museum, Victoria & Albert Museum etc

Return to London later this afternoon.

Attend matinee or evening performance of the production on which the workshop is based.

Farewell dinner in restaurant in Covent Garden area.
