The itinerary

Day 1

Arrive at London Heathrow Airport where you are met outside customs (in the Arrivals Hall) by your Pathfinders Tour Manager and escorted on foot to your waiting coach. Transfer straight into central London for a 3 hour panoramic tour of the city by coach including views of many famous sights 

Overnight: London

Day 2

Depart hotel and travel to the Tower of London (Tower Hill).

This morning enjoy a fascinating historical guided tour of the Tower of London including the chance to see the Crown Jewels.

Continue for a guided tour of Westminster Abbey, which has played such a pivotal role in English history over the centuries.

Later this afternoon there will be a group visit to the State Rooms of Buckingham Palace with audio guides. 

Stay night LONDON

DAY 3

Depart this morning and take a short transfer by coach to St Pancras International Station.

Depart by Eurostar Train for your direct journey to Paris.

Arrive at Paris Gare du Nord Station where you will be met by your local guide and escorted on foot to your waiting coach.

This afternoon enjoy a panoramic city sightseeing tour by coach which will include views of many of the famous Parisian sights including the Eiffel Tower, the Champs Elysees, the Arc de Triumph, Place de la Concorde and Notre Dame Cathedral.

Continue to the Arc de Triomphe. A daily ritual pays tribute to the Great Dead; each evening at 6.30pm, a flame is rekindled by one of the nine hundred associations of former combatants regrouped under the association Le Flamme sous l'Arc de Triomphe.

Transfer by coach afterwards to your hotel for check-in, with the remainder of the evening at leisure.

DAY 4

Depart this morning for Hotel National des Invalides.

Upon arrival visit the complex of the Hotel National des Invalides and also see Napoleon's Tomb.

Afterwards there will be free time to purchase lunch before continuing onto the Musee du Louvre for an afternoon guided tour with a local guide.

Enjoy a 1.5hr guided tour of the Musee du Louvre taking in the major exhibits including the Mona Lisa.

There will be free time to purchase dinner before continuing to the Notre Dame area to board an evening cruise.

Evening 1 hour cruise on the Seine (Bateaux Parisiens) from the foot of Notre Dame.

Return to the hotel.

Overnight: Paris

DAY 5

Depart by coach for Montmartre, where upon arrival there is a visit to the beautiful Basilique du Sacre Coeur de Montmatre.

There will be free time in this interesting part of Paris and a chance to purchase an early lunch before departing for Versailles.

Depart Paris for the Chateau of Versailles accompanied by a local guide. Enjoy a tour of this fabulous palace created by Louis XIV.

Depart Versailles for Saint Quentin.

Arrive in Saint Quentin and check-in to your hotel.

Overnight: Saint Quentin

DAY 6

A local expert Battlefields English-speaking guide will be joining the group today. Depart by coach with your local expert English-speaking guide for a full day tour that starts and ends in Saint-Quentin and includes visits to Lochnagar mine crater, Pozieres Military cemetery and Memorial, Memorial to the Missing at Thiepval and Interpretative Centre. 

Also to be visited will be Villers Bretonneux, Victoria School and Museum, Adelaide Military cemetery & the Australian National Memorial to the Missing and cemetery.

Overnight: Saint Quentin

Day 7

Depart by coach with your local expert English-speaking guide for a full day tour that starts in Saint-Quentin and ends in Lille and includes visits to Mont St Quentin and the 2nd Australian Division Memorial, Bullecourt - Slouch Hat Memorial, Bullecourt Digger, Hindenburg Line and the Bullecourt Memorial to the missing

In the afternoon visit Fromelles - Pheasant Wood new military cemetery, Cobber Memorial, VC Corner military cemetery. 

Overnight: Lille

Day 8

Depart by coach with your local expert English-speaking guide for a full day tour that starts and ends in Lille and includes visits to  In Flander's Fields Museum, Essex Farm military cemetery & bunkers - where the poem In Flander's Fields was inspired; Passchendaele Museum and dug-outs, Tyne Cot Military cemetery, Langermarck German cemetery and the Menin Gate. 

Overnight: Lille 

DAY 9

Transfer to Brussels International Airport for return flights
